In the beginning matter (of elements) was indefinite (undefined, unspecified, unlimited, uncountable, continuous), with no boundaries, shape, or form (shapeless, amorphous).
First holoteses (complete or incomplete, perfect or imperfect) /entities /compounds (genera/ kinds (species), forms) were created of parts combined of existing matter i.e. of bases (elements), which consequently created (the need for) natural numbers (used by man) to define times of repetitiveness of same or similar entities (forms) (quantity, sum, total).
