Large (big, great)-Small (Singular Number)

Used with all countable (numerable) nouns and with a number of uncountable (measurable) (nouns denoting magnitude, literally or metaphorically).

e.g. large – small town, big – small house / big patience, development, great love, energy, power, role, spirit 

Large (big, great)-Small (Plural Number)

Used only with (all) countable nouns (of plural number, plurality)

e.g. large - small towns, big – small houses 

Much (a lot/large amount of) –A little (Singular Number)

Used with collective nouns denoting multitude and a number of uncountable (measurable) nouns denoting magnitude, literally or metaphorically

e.g. much crowd/much tea, sand / much patience, love, energy, motion, power (assuming that it is measured by measures and weights) 

Many (a lot/large number of) – A few (Plural Number)

Used only with (all) countable nouns (of plural number, plurality)

e.g. many/a few houses, trees, bees, children 

Large: Above average in size, number, quantity, magnitude or extent/ syn: big, /great, magnanimous, prominent, bombastic, extensive.
